MX6000HST Buyer Guide

If you're considering a Kubota MX6000HST tractor and loader, these are the sections most buyers want to see before making a purchase. Compare tractor size, loader capability, PTO horsepower, implement sizing, common buying mistakes, and whether the MX6000 gives you the right amount of tractor for your acreage and long-term plans.

Why Buyers Choose The MX6000 Decision Specs One-Button Comparison Guide Common Buyer Regrets Why Buy From Ravenscraft Price & Financing Explore Land Pride Implements

Why Buy The Kubota MX6000HST?

The MX6000HST makes the most sense for buyers who like the size, weight, loader capability, and simplicity of the MX platform but want the most horsepower available in the MX Series. At 63.4 gross engine horsepower, it gives you considerably more PTO capability than the lower-horsepower MX models without forcing you into a physically larger utility tractor.

1. Buy It For The Horsepower — Not A Bigger Tractor

One of the biggest reasons to choose the MX6000 is that you get more usable horsepower without moving into a much larger tractor. The MX6000 stays on the familiar MX platform while giving you the power needed for heavier PTO-driven work.

2. Nearly 52 PTO Horsepower Changes What You Can Run

The MX6000 delivers approximately 51.8 PTO horsepower. That extra PTO power matters when you're running larger rotary cutters, finish mowers, tillers, hay equipment, or other PTO-driven implements. Some of our customers even use the MX6000 with 12-foot batwing cutters where conditions and implement requirements allow.

3. The LA1065 Loader Makes It A Serious Chore Tractor

The LA1065 front loader gives the MX6000 the loader capability acreage and livestock owners expect from this size tractor. It's a strong fit for dirt, gravel, manure, feed, pallet forks, grapple work, and round-bale handling when the tractor is properly equipped and ballasted.

4. 3-Range HST Is Excellent For Loader Work

The 3-range hydrostatic transmission is one of the biggest advantages of the MX6000HST for property owners. Forward-and-reverse work is simple and fast, especially when you're loading material, moving pallets, cleaning lots, working around buildings, or constantly changing direction.

5. It's Big Enough To Work — Without Becoming A Full-Size Utility Tractor

This is where the MX6000 fits particularly well. It's substantially more tractor than a smaller compact when you're handling material, mowing acreage, or pulling heavier implements, but it remains more maneuverable and easier to operate around an acreage than stepping into a larger utility-class machine.

6. Standard Skid Steer Quick Attach Opens Up Attachment Choices

The loader's skid steer quick attach lets you move beyond the bucket. Pallet forks, bale spears, grapples, and other compatible attachments can dramatically expand what the MX6000 can accomplish around a farm or acreage.

Ravenscraft Buyer Takeaway

Don't buy the MX6000 just because it has the biggest horsepower number. If most of your work is loader work, grading, light mowing, and general property maintenance, an MX4900 or MX5400 may accomplish the same jobs for less money. The MX6000 earns its keep when you will actually use the additional PTO horsepower for larger mowing, heavier PTO equipment, hay work, or future implements.

MX6000HST Decision Specs

Spec sheets contain a lot of numbers. These are the MX6000HST specifications that actually matter when deciding whether this is enough tractor — or too much tractor — for your property.

Engine
63.4 HP

Kubota 4-cylinder diesel with 148.5 cu. in. displacement. The MX6000 is the highest-horsepower tractor in the MX Series.

PTO Horsepower
51.8 PTO HP

This is one of the biggest reasons to choose the MX6000. The additional PTO horsepower gives you more capability for larger cutters, mowing equipment, hay equipment and other PTO-intensive implements.

Transmission
3-Range HST

Low, Medium and High hydrostatic ranges give you simple speed and direction control. Especially valuable for loader work and jobs requiring frequent forward/reverse changes.

Tractor Weight
Approx. 3,734 LB

Weight matters almost as much as horsepower. The MX platform gives you substantially more mass and stability than a smaller compact tractor for loader work, ground engagement and pulling larger implements.

LA1065 Loader
2,275 LB @ Pins

Published lift capacity at the bucket pivot pin is useful for comparing loaders, but it is not the same as what you can safely lift on pallet forks or at the front edge of the bucket.

Real-World Loader Expectation
About 1,800 LB

For actual buying decisions, we consider roughly 1,800 lb a more useful working expectation when using properly sized pallet forks with the load carried forward of the pivot pins.

3-Point Lift
2,310 LB @ 24"

The 24-inch-behind-the-pins rating is the number we care about when evaluating real implements because the weight of an implement sits behind the hitch points, not directly at them.

Hydraulic Flow
14.0 GPM Total

Hydraulic capacity affects loader response and hydraulic attachment performance. A third-function valve can make the MX6000 especially useful with a grapple or other hydraulic front attachment.

Fuel Capacity
13.5 Gallons

Enough capacity for extended mowing, loader and property work without constantly stopping to refuel. Actual run time varies significantly with engine load and PTO demand.

Tractor Size
Approx. 69.7" Wide

The MX6000 is physically larger and heavier than Kubota's smaller compact tractors, but it remains considerably more maneuverable around an acreage than stepping into a full-size utility tractor.

Ravenscraft Buyer Takeaway

The numbers that really separate the MX6000 are 51.8 PTO horsepower, the weight of the MX chassis, and the LA1065 loader. If your work is primarily loader work, grading and lighter mowing, an MX4900 or MX5400 may accomplish many of the same jobs. The MX6000 becomes especially compelling when your plans include larger PTO-driven equipment, heavier mowing, hay work, or simply wanting additional horsepower in reserve without moving into a substantially larger utility tractor.

Common MX6000HST Buyer Regrets

The MX6000HST is a very capable tractor, but the best ownership experience usually comes from getting the tractor, tires, ballast, and attachments right from the beginning. These are the decisions we would think through before buying.

1. Buying More Horsepower Than You Actually Need

The MX6000 gives you the most horsepower in the MX Series, but that does not automatically make it the best value for every buyer. If most of your work is loader work, grading, light mowing, driveway maintenance, and general acreage chores, an MX4900 or MX5400 may do nearly the same work for less money.

2. Underestimating The Importance Of Rear Ballast

The LA1065 loader is capable enough that proper ballast becomes extremely important. Buyers sometimes focus on loader lift capacity and forget that rear ballast is part of the loader system. A heavy box blade, ballast box, loaded rear tires, or other properly matched ballast improves stability, traction, steering control, and overall loader performance.

3. Waiting Too Long To Buy Pallet Forks

Pallet forks are one of the attachments many owners wish they had purchased immediately. Once you have them, the MX6000 can move pallets, lumber, fencing supplies, logs, building materials, feed, equipment, and countless awkward loads that are difficult to handle efficiently with a bucket.

4. Not Adding A Third Function Before You Need A Grapple

If brush cleanup, storm damage, tree work, logs, or demolition debris are anywhere in your future plans, it is worth discussing a loader third-function valve when you purchase the tractor. A grapple can completely change how useful the MX6000 is for cleanup and material handling.

5. Choosing Tires Based Only On Appearance

Tire choice should match where the tractor actually works. For many Kansas acreage owners, R4 industrial tires are a strong compromise between traction, durability, loader stability, and reduced ground disturbance.

If maximum traction in loose soil or mud matters more than turf disturbance, R1 agricultural tires may be the better choice.

6. Assuming Published Loader Capacity Equals Pallet Fork Capacity

Loader ratings are typically measured at the pivot pins. Once you install pallet forks and move the load farther forward, effective lifting capacity drops. We prefer to think in terms of roughly 1,800 lb of realistic working capacity rather than assuming every 2,275-lb published loader rating can be carried at the front of the forks.

7. Buying The Tractor Without Thinking About Future Implements

The MX6000's extra horsepower makes the most sense when you have a plan for it. Think beyond what you need today and consider rotary cutters, finish mowers, tillers, hay equipment, grading tools, spreaders, post-hole diggers, and future hydraulic attachments.

Buying enough tractor for tomorrow can save money, but buying horsepower you will never use does not.

Ravenscraft Buyer Takeaway

The biggest regret is usually not choosing the wrong horsepower number. It is buying a tractor without thinking through the entire working setup. The right tires, rear ballast, pallet forks, third function, and properly sized implements can make a bigger difference in daily usefulness than simply moving up another horsepower level.

Why Buy Your MX6000HST From Ravenscraft Implement?

Dan Ravenscraft Grew Up Around The Equipment

Dan Ravenscraft is the third generation of the Ravenscraft family in the equipment business. Long before he was helping customers choose tractors, Dan was around the dealership and began assembling implements at a very early age. That hands-on background matters because choosing the right tractor is about much more than comparing horsepower numbers on a brochure.

Dan understands how tractors, loaders, tires, ballast, and implements actually work together. When you're deciding whether an MX6000HST is the right machine, that experience helps turn a specification sheet into a tractor that is properly matched to the work you really need to do.

We Will Tell You If The MX6000 Is The Tractor You Need

The MX6000 is a great tractor, but that does not mean every buyer needs 63.4 horsepower. If an MX4900, MX5400, L4802, or another tractor is a better fit for your property and workload, we would rather explain that before you buy than sell you horsepower you may never use.

We Look At The Whole Setup

A tractor purchase should include more than the tractor itself. We talk through loader work, pallet forks, grapples, rear ballast, tire choice, rotary cutter size, grading equipment, hay work, and future attachments so the MX6000 is equipped for the jobs you actually expect it to perform.

We Stock Land Pride Implements To Match Your Tractor

If you need implements with your MX6000, we stock and sell Land Pride equipment that can be matched to the tractor's horsepower, width, weight, and intended use. That includes rotary cutters, box blades, quick hitches, pallet forks, grading tools, and many other attachments.

Your Tractor Is Set Up Before It Leaves Ravenscraft

Freight and prep are already included in our advertised pricing. Before delivery, your tractor and loader are prepared so you are not receiving a machine that simply came off a truck and was handed over. We want the MX6000 ready to go to work when it reaches your property.

Delivery Within 100 Miles

We offer delivery within 100 miles of Whitewater, Kansas, making it easier for customers throughout South Central Kansas to buy locally without having to arrange transportation for a tractor this size.

We Have Been Here Since 1962

Ravenscraft Implement has been serving equipment owners since 1962. We are not trying to make a one-time internet sale. Our goal is to sell you the right tractor, help you equip it correctly, and still be here when you need parts, service, another implement, or your next machine.

The Ravenscraft Difference

When you talk with Dan or the Ravenscraft team, the goal is not simply to put an MX6000 on your trailer. The goal is to help you leave with the right tractor, the right loader setup, the right attachments, and a machine that makes sense for the work you plan to do for years to come.
