Unlike conventional single-spindle 84-inch rotary cutters, the RCD1884’s dual-spindle design shortens the overall length of the machine, making it much easier to maneuver around trees, buildings, fence lines, and other obstacles. The 10-inch right offset allows the cutter to reach closer to fences and property edges while keeping the tractor safely away from obstructions.
The dual-blade system also distributes the cutting load between two gearboxes, providing smoother operation and excellent cutting performance in heavy grass and weeds while maintaining a compact footprint.

The RCD1884 is one of my favorite rotary cutters for MX Series and Grand L owners. The dual-spindle design gives you the full 7-foot cutting width while remaining significantly shorter than many comparable single-spindle cutters. That means easier backing into corners, tighter turns around trees, and better maneuverability in confined areas.
For customers mowing pastures, waterways, hunting property, horse facilities, and road frontage, the RCD1884 covers substantially more ground than a 6-foot cutter while still being manageable behind tractors like the Kubota MX5400 and MX6000. The dual tailwheel design provides excellent stability over rough terrain, and the slip-clutch-protected driveline helps protect the cutter when hidden stumps or rocks are encountered.
If your work consists primarily of grass, weeds, and brush up to 1½ inches, the RCD1884 offers one of the best combinations of productivity, maneuverability, and durability in the Land Pride lineup. If you routinely tackle saplings over 2 inches or reclaim heavily overgrown land, you’ll be better served by stepping up to one of Land Pride’s heavier-duty RCF or RC Series cutters with greater cutting capacity.
