Why Buyers Choose The MX6000 Decision Specs MX6000 vs M5660SU Common Buyer Regrets Why Buy From Ravenscraft Price & Financing Land Pride Implements

Why The MX6000HST Tractor Package Is A Smart Buy

The Kubota MX6000HST package is built for acreage owners, livestock producers, and property managers who need serious horsepower, strong loader performance, and a complete package that is ready to work the day it arrives. This is not just a tractor and loader—it is a proven setup for Kansas property maintenance, pasture management, driveway work, and material handling.

  • ✔ More horsepower than most acreage owners ever outgrow.
With 63.4 engine horsepower and excellent PTO performance, the MX6000 has the muscle to handle larger rotary cutters, heavier box blades, tillers, spreaders, and many of the implements owners eventually upgrade into.
  • ✔ The MX chassis hits a sweet spot.
Bigger and heavier than an L Series tractor but easier to maneuver and more affordable than many utility tractors, the MX6000 is often considered the perfect balance between capability and practicality.
  • ✔ The LA1065A loader will become your most-used tool.
Moving gravel, dirt, manure, feed, pallets, lumber, brush, snow, and building materials are everyday jobs where the MX6000's loader quickly proves its value.
  • ✔ Hydrostatic transmission makes work easier.
The 3-range HST transmission is ideal for loader work, mowing, feeding, grading, cleaning lots, and any task requiring constant forward and reverse movement without clutching or shifting gears.
  • ✔ The Land Pride QH16 Quick Hitch saves time every time you switch implements.
Hooking up implements becomes faster, easier, and less frustrating, especially when changing between your box blade, rotary cutter, and future 3-point attachments.
  • ✔ The BB2572 Box Blade is one of the most useful implements you can own.
Maintaining gravel driveways, repairing washouts, building pads, moving dirt, improving drainage, and grading projects are exactly what this heavy-duty box blade was built for.
  • ✔ The RCR1872 Rotary Cutter is properly matched to the tractor.
The 72-inch cutter makes quick work of pasture mowing, waterways, field edges, weeds, and rough-cut maintenance while taking full advantage of the MX6000's PTO horsepower.
  • ✔ The package is already balanced and matched.
Many buyers purchase a tractor first and then struggle to choose the right implements later. This package eliminates the guesswork by pairing proven equipment that works together.
  • ✔ Skid steer quick attach gives you room to grow.
Add pallet forks, grapples, bale spears, snow pushers, and other attachments as your needs change. The MX6000 can grow with your property and workload.
  • ✔ Built for real Kansas property work.
Long driveways, livestock chores, pasture maintenance, brush control, storm cleanup, gravel work, and material handling are exactly the jobs this package was designed to tackle.
  • ✔ A tractor many owners keep for decades.
The combination of horsepower, weight, loader strength, implement capability, and simple operation makes the MX6000HST a machine that many owners never feel the need to replace.

MX6000HST Decision Specs — What Buyers Actually Want To Know

Included Package Implements — Why They Matter

Land Pride QH16 Quick Hitch
Makes changing compatible 3-point implements faster and easier. Less time wrestling lift arms and pins means more time actually getting work done.

Land Pride BB2572 72" Heavy Duty Box Blade
One of the most useful acreage implements you can own. Excellent for driveway maintenance, gravel work, grading building pads, repairing washouts, cutting high spots, and moving dirt.

Land Pride RCR1872 72" Rotary Cutter
Properly matched to the MX6000HST's PTO power. Great for pasture mowing, waterways, field edges, overgrowth, weed control, and general rough-cut mowing.
Why The MX6000HST Hits The Sweet Spot

The MX6000HST sits in a very useful place between smaller compact tractors and larger utility tractors. It gives you more horsepower, more PTO power, more loader capability, and more working weight than many smaller machines while still keeping hydrostatic ease of use.

If you are comparing the MX6000HST to an L4802, MX5400, or M5660SU, this is the tractor many buyers choose when they want serious acreage capability without stepping into a larger gear-drive utility tractor.
Our Tire Recommendation — R4 Industrial Tires

Most MX6000 buyers choose R4 industrial tires because they are a strong match for loader work, gravel driveways, mixed acreage use, hay yards, barns, livestock lots, and general property maintenance.

R1 Ag tires can be a better fit for primary field work and soft soil traction, but for most Kansas acreage owners doing loader work, mowing, grading, and driveway maintenance, the R4 tire is usually the more practical all-around choice.
Common Loader Quick Attach Options

PFL3048 3,000 lb Pallet Forks
One of the most useful attachments for moving pallets, lumber, logs, feed, seed, pipe, totes, and building materials.

BS10 Bale Spear
A common choice for round bale handling when paired with proper rear ballast and safe loader setup.

72" SGC1072 Claw Grapple
Excellent for brush, limbs, cleanup work, storm debris, tree rows, and rough property cleanup. Requires 3rd function valve.
Real-World Summary

The MX6000HST ROPS package is the right fit when you want a tractor that can handle loader work, mowing, driveway maintenance, livestock chores, gravel work, round bale handling, and long-term property projects without quickly outgrowing the machine.

The included QH16 Quick Hitch, BB2572 Box Blade, and RCR1872 Rotary Cutter make this package a true ready-to-work setup instead of just a tractor and loader.

Why Buy This MX6000HST ROPS Package From Ravenscraft?

At Ravenscraft Implement, this MX6000HST ROPS package is not just listed as a tractor, loader, and a few implements. It is built as a matched package for the way Kansas acreage owners actually work: loader chores, pasture mowing, driveway maintenance, livestock work, material handling, grading, and long-term property upkeep.

  • ✔ In business since 1962.
Ravenscraft Implement has been serving Kansas farmers, ranchers, acreage owners, and property owners for generations. We are a local dealership with deep roots in Whitewater, Wichita, and South Central Kansas.
  • ✔ Guidance from real equipment experience.
Third-generation owner Dan Ravenscraft started assembling implements at a young age and worked his way up from the ground. That experience matters when you are deciding between horsepower, loader capacity, tire choices, hydrostatic drive, open station visibility, and implement sizing.
  • ✔ We match the package before you buy it.
This MX6000HST ROPS package includes the LA1065A Loader, QH16 Quick Hitch, BB2572 Box Blade, and RCR1872 Rotary Cutter because those pieces work together. You do not have to guess which size implements belong behind the tractor.
  • ✔ We focus on decision specs, not brochure specs.
Customers want to know what it will lift and what it will run, whether the MX6000 is enough tractor, whether they should step up to an M5660SU, how much loader capacity matters, and what they may regret later. Those are the conversations we want to have before you buy.
  • ✔ We spend our money the same way you do.
A tractor package is a serious investment. We want you to buy enough tractor to be happy long term, but we also do not want you spending money on the wrong machine or the wrong implements just because something looked good on paper.
  • ✔ Ready-to-work packages save time and frustration.
The tractor, loader, and implements are already matched together, making the package ready for real work from day one.
  • ✔ Delivery available within 100 miles of Whitewater, Kansas.
We regularly serve customers around Wichita, Newton, El Dorado, Augusta, Andover, Derby, Hutchinson, and surrounding South Central Kansas communities.
  • ✔ Our goal is for you to still feel right about the purchase years later.
The best sale is not the fastest sale. It is the one where the tractor, loader, tires, transmission, and implements still make sense after years of ownership.

MX6000HST Comparison Guide

Most buyers considering the MX6000HST are also comparing it to the MX5400HST package or wondering if they should move up to the M5660SU utility tractor. Here is how the decision usually plays out in the real world.

Category MX5400HST MX6000HST M5660SU
Engine HP 54.7 HP 63.4 HP 56 HP
PTO Power Approx. 46 PTO HP Approx. 51.8 PTO HP Approx. 50 PTO HP
Transmission HST HST Shuttle Shift Only
Loader Capability Strong MX Loader Strong MX Loader More Lift Capacity
Tractor Class MX Series MX Series Utility Tractor
Best Fit Value-Minded Acreage Owners Acreage, Livestock, Loader Work Heavier Utility Work
MX5400HST vs MX6000HST

One of the most common comparisons we have at Ravenscraft is between the MX5400HST package and the MX6000HST package.

The interesting part is that the price difference is surprisingly small.

MX4900 to MX5400 Package Upgrade: Approximately $2,450
MX5400 to MX6000 Package Upgrade: Approximately $2,470

For roughly the same step-up investment, the MX6000 gains nearly 9 additional engine horsepower and approximately 6 additional PTO horsepower over the MX5400.

That additional power becomes noticeable when running larger rotary cutters, heavier PTO implements, thicker pasture conditions, and future attachments you may add years down the road.

If budget is the primary concern, the MX5400 remains an excellent value.

If long-term capability is the goal, the MX6000 is often the model buyers are happiest they stepped up to.
MX6000HST vs M5660SU

The Kubota M5660SU is generally considered the next step up from the MX6000. While horsepower is similar, the M5660SU moves into a heavier utility tractor platform with additional loader capability, greater overall chassis strength, and more operating weight.

The biggest difference is transmission choice.

The MX6000 uses a hydrostatic transmission.

Loader work, feeding livestock, grading driveways, mowing, and repetitive forward-and-reverse work are simple and intuitive.

The M5660SU is a shuttle shift tractor only.

Many hay producers, cattle operations, and utility tractor owners prefer the efficiency and durability of a shuttle shift transmission, but it does require more shifting than a hydrostatic tractor.

The M5660SU also provides:
  • More loader lift capacity
  • Heavier overall operating weight
  • A more robust utility tractor chassis
  • Excellent suitability for hay and livestock operations
Choose the MX6000HST if:
You spend most of your time doing loader work, mowing, grading, feeding, acreage maintenance, and property chores.

Choose the M5660SU if:
You want a heavier utility tractor, more lift capacity, larger haying capability, and do not mind operating a shuttle shift transmission.

For many acreage owners, the MX6000 represents the sweet spot. For larger livestock and hay operations, the M5660SU is often the logical next step.
Our Recommendation

For most South Central Kansas acreage owners, the MX6000HST hits the sweet spot. It delivers enough horsepower for larger implements, enough loader capacity for serious work, hydrostatic convenience, and long-term versatility without moving into a larger utility tractor.

Common MX6000HST Buyer Regrets To Think About Before You Buy

Most MX6000 owners are extremely happy with the tractor's power, stability, loader performance, and versatility. The regrets usually are not about the tractor itself—they are typically about comfort, setup decisions, tire selection, ballast, attachments, or whether the buyer should have stepped into a cab or a larger utility tractor.

  • ✔ Regret #1: Not thinking hard enough about cab vs open station.
The MX6000HST ROPS is an outstanding value and provides excellent visibility and easy access. However, buyers who spend long days mowing, feeding cattle during winter, dealing with dust, allergies, wind, heat, or spraying operations sometimes wish they had priced the cab version before making their final decision.
  • ✔ Regret #2: Underestimating how important ballast is for loader work.
The LA1065A loader is a strong loader, but safe real-world lifting depends on rear ballast, tire setup, attachment weight, terrain, and load center. If you plan to move round bales, pallets, gravel, totes, or heavy materials, proper ballast is not optional—it is part of making the tractor perform correctly and safely.
  • ✔ Regret #3: Focusing only on pin lift instead of effective lift.
Loader brochures often advertise lift capacity at the pivot pins. The number buyers should really focus on is usable lift capacity with pallet forks, bale spears, and real-world loads. That is why we discuss approximately 1,850 lbs of effective lift capacity rather than pretending every load sits directly at the pivot pins.
  • ✔ Regret #4: Not spending enough time in the operator seat before buying.
Most owners love the hydrostatic transmission because it makes loader work, mowing, grading, and chores easy. However, every operator is different. It is worth spending time in the seat, using the pedals, and making sure the tractor feels comfortable for the type of work you plan to do.
  • ✔ Regret #5: Waiting too long to buy pallet forks.
Ask enough tractor owners and you'll hear the same thing: pallet forks are often the attachment they wish they had purchased sooner. Moving lumber, fencing materials, pallets, seed, feed, logs, equipment, and supplies becomes dramatically easier once forks are added.
  • ✔ Regret #6: Not choosing the right tire for the property.

Most MX6000 buyers choose R4 industrial tires because they are a strong match for loader work, gravel driveways, livestock operations, barns, mixed acreage use, and general property maintenance.

While R14T hybrid tires have gained popularity because of their traction characteristics, we generally do not recommend them for many of the conditions commonly found in South Central Kansas.

Kansas properties often include hedge trees, honey locust, crushed limestone, field rock, gravel roads, brush, and rough pasture conditions. These conditions can be extremely hard on tractor tires.

One concern we have with the R14T is its thinner sidewall construction compared to a traditional R4 industrial tire. That thinner, more flexible sidewall can help traction and ride quality, but it can also create a softer feel when carrying heavy loader loads, operating on side slopes, or working in rough terrain.

Some owners also report concerns about puncture resistance when working around thorns, brush, hedge, locust, sharp rock, and other hazards commonly found on Kansas acreage properties.

For buyers doing heavy loader work, handling round bales, moving pallets, maintaining gravel driveways, and operating in rough conditions, we generally prefer the heavier sidewall construction and durability characteristics of an R4 industrial tire.

R1 agricultural tires still provide the highest traction in soft field conditions, but for most acreage owners in South Central Kansas, the R4 industrial tire remains our most commonly recommended all-around tire choice.
  • ✔ Regret #7: Not comparing the M5660SU if heavier utility work is in your future.
The MX6000HST is the sweet spot for many acreage owners, but the M5660SU is the next step up if you want a heavier utility tractor, more lift capacity, and additional capability for larger livestock and hay operations. The tradeoff is that the M5660SU is shuttle shift only, while the MX6000 gives you hydrostatic convenience.
  • ✔ Regret #8: Buying too small before buying an MX.
One of the most common tractor-buying mistakes is starting with a smaller machine and later discovering the loader, weight, PTO power, or implement capability is not enough. The MX6000 costs more up front, but it gives many buyers room to grow into larger jobs instead of trading tractors later.
  • ✔ Regret #9: Not adding a grapple and 3rd function valve when ordering.
If you have hedge rows, brush piles, storm cleanup, tree limbs, or fence-row maintenance, a grapple quickly becomes one of the most useful attachments you can own. Many owners eventually add one and wish they had done it from the beginning.
  • ✔ Regret #10: Not matching the implements from day one.
A tractor is only as useful as the tools behind it. This package includes the QH16 Quick Hitch, BB2572 Box Blade, and RCR1872 Rotary Cutter because those implements are properly matched to the MX6000. Having the right tools from the start saves time, reduces frustration, and allows the tractor to start earning its keep immediately.
